ABOUT SHAN
On June 7, 2006 , NiShan Huff, 23, an African American, young female, was found slain in her apartment in Greenville, South Carolina.  The murder is still under investigation however, there are very few leads coming in.

NiShan had her whole life ahead of her.  Shan attended Greenville Senior High School and graduated in 2000.  She participated in the A-Team, Crime Stoppers, ran track, played volleyball, a member of the JV & Varsity Cheerleading squads, sang with the Concert Chorus, member of the Heritage Club and Step Team, she was a member of the National Honor Society.

Shan graduated from Francis Marion University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications, and a minor in Spanish, December 2005.  While pursuing her education she was given the opportunity to travel a board in Mexico.  Shan co-founded the student media organization, Patriots on Air. She worked as an Intern at WBTW News Station in Florence, SC.   She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

What is so troublesome is that this case has not received any national coverage with the media.  Many people in the community feel like it is because NiShan was Black and lived in a black community and if you compare it to the Clemson student, Tiffany Souers, (white) who was found in her apartment in Clemson, on May 26, 2006, which the media was all over.
